This is a beautiful handmade oil burner, which I made on a pottery wheel in my backyard in Geelong, Australia.
I make things out of clay as a way to switch off my brain and calm down a bit. I hope that you find burning your favourite scented oil in this oil burner will give you a moment of calm too.
This oil burner is a beautiful earthy neutral, made from a warm brown clay. It has splashes of a bobbly white glaze that for some reason feels uniquely Australian to me. Other parts of the burner are left unglazed so that you can enjoy the loveliness of this beautiful clay.
I’ve made the burner in two parts so that you can easily remove the bowl to refill or clean it. The bowl is glazed on the inside in a clear glaze.
This oil burner is made with care, and is designed to last for generations to come. It would make a lovely gift for a special occasion, or a special treat for yourself.
Measurements:
Height: 12cm
Width: 10cm
To use the oil burner:
– Fill the bowl with water
– Add a few drops of essential oil (I like the Gentle Habits ones best)
– Light a tealight candle in the base of the burner
– Make sure the bowl never burns dry – top up with extra water from time to time as needed
– As you will use a tealight candle, take your usual fire-safety precautions
– Enjoy the beautiful calming scent of your oil, and the soft glow of the candlelight.
